Let me just say this....TORONTO is the Best City In The World to Live In ...but please enough of the Long Winters and the Terrible Snow.
Yesterday we had almost 2 feet of snow so when we opened the front door we almost stumbled into the huge chunk of snow piled at our doorstep. Our garage door won't open because the sensors were blocked with snow which seeped into our garage because of the blowing winds. My youngest son was so pissed off when he stumbled through the huge pile of snow on the streets on the way to school(which is a 30 minute walk) to later find out that all schools were cancelled/closed.
Yesterday was also Wiarton Willie Day....a day when the groundhog predicts if we are having spring early or late.
Wiarton Willie is a Canadian groundhog who lives in the community of Wiarton in Bruce County, Ontario. Every February 2, on Groundhog Day, Willie takes part in the local Wiarton Willie Festival. His role is to predict whether there will be an early spring. What do you know the groundhog predicted we will have an early spring....Hurrah for that!
In the meantime, for lovers of winter and is enough snow that will last you until the next Snowmageddon comes around. Well that would be Wednesday(sigh).
These photos makes for some excellent Instagram scenes. Pristine white snow piling up on balconies, streets empty and children playing in the snow while teenagers grudgingly shovel through the blizzard — it’s all pretty exciting if you don’t need to drive.
See my two boys are working out a sweat!
