This is hubbys first time in Korea so we were hoping to do a city tour on our very last day in Seoul. However we can't afford to go around since we had to check out at the hotel at 11 am and be at the airport at least by 1pm to catch our 3pm flight.
So we decided to just go and visit some temples in downtown Seoul. We were hoping to visit the Deoksugung Palace which was near our hotel. We just took the Metro to City Mall Metro stop which was very near the palace.Unfortunately we didn't know that on Mondays, all public museums and palaces are closed. So we just took photos of the outside gate of Deoksugung.
Another spot that we stumbled upon while going around the vicinity of the palace is the Seoul Art Museum. Again the Museum was closed but there were outside sculptures that are displayed in the museum grounds.
Right after our brief stop at this place, we checked out and headed off to the airport. Our bus took a short stop over at Fortune Hill which has the largest steel sculpture measuring 23.57 m (77 ft 3.95 in) high and was achieved by Ohin Kwon (South Korea). It is located in Incheon, South Korea and was opened on 23 May 2014. The sculpture depicts the fortune bear, symbol of the Dan-Gun mythology.
Then in the airport we listened to some cultural group playing Korean music.
This capped our two day trip to Seoul for Mothers Day.
