CIA Memorial Wall In Langley, VA

Wall Street Journal: CIA Says Two Officials Killed in Line of Duty in Past Year

Stars added to Langley, Va., memorial wall which now contains 113

Two Central Intelligence Agency officials died “in the line of duty” in the past year, the CIA said Monday as two stars were added to its memorial wall in Langley, Va.

There are now 113 stars on the wall in the lobby of the CIA’s headquarters. The CIA has in the past disclosed some of the names of officials who died in the line of service, but some of the identities remain secret, including the two added to the wall this year.

The CIA didn't reveal how or where the people died. This suggests they were working undercover, and their identities remain secret even after death.

The CIA first placed stars on the wall in memory of its dead 41 years ago.

On Monday, CIA Director John Brennan led a memorial ceremony.
